Aunque es habitual el empleo del mecanizado para la fabricación de piezas metálicas, también es muy común el uso de los procedimientos de mecanizado para fabricar piezas hechas de otros materiales, como puedan ser, plásticos, materiales compuestos, etc. Una vez definidos los tres tipos de mecanizado más habituales según la manera de operar sobre la pieza, podemos detallar los tipos según el tipo de máquina-herramienta utilizada y el proceso que lleva a cabo. Contamos con una oficina técnica para dar soporte de diseño e ingeniería de producción a nuestros clientes, y con una nave de 1000 m2 (+350 m2 de planta) con una ubicación estratégica dentro del polígono industrial Torre Bovera de Sant Andreu de la Barca (Barcelona), ideal para los continuos desplazamientos propios de una empresa dedicada al servicio integral del mecanizado.

MCM se distingue, además, por su vocación de integrador de sistemas, compuestos por sus propios centros de mecanizado, máquinas herramientas de diferentes tipologías, sistemas de automatización, tecnologías de proceso no convencionales, sistemas de planificación y gestión de la producción. Una de las ventajas de estas máquinas de centro mecanizados es que pueden arrojar piezas con cortes simétricos y exactos, gracias a precisión. Somos una empresa encuadrada en el sector del mantenimiento mecánico y mecanizado de piezas.
Capaz de realizar múltiples operaciones en un pieza, utilizando herramientas rotativas de múltiples filos de corte y con la mínima intervención del hombre durante el proceso de mecanizado, incrementando así la producción, flexibilidad y precisión. La ventaja competitiva que ofrece el mecanizado respecto a otros medios de prototipado como la impresión 3D es el óptimo nivel acabado superficial, permitiendo además poder obtener piezas en una gran variedad de materiales. Ahora bien, el código utilizado para programar máquinas de control numérico denominado genéricamente como Código-G, contiene información relacionada con la posición donde las partes de la máquina deben colocarse, de tal manera que le dice a la máquina exactamente dónde colocar una herramienta para realizar el mecanizado.
En nueva construcción curre también que tras el proceso de soldadura de la brida, ésta se deforma siendo necesario el mecanizado para recuperar la planitud original. Así pues hablamos de centros de mecanizado de 5 ejes y tornos multi-función, que permiten obtener una pieza compleja, totalmente terminada, partiendo de un tocho de una barra de metal y todo ello en un único amarre. Además es muy importante en este proceso saber qué tipo de mecanizado se necesita en cada momento para darle a la pieza la forma adecuada que cada cliente busca.
